In the left column, go to Issue types > Add issue type. Enter a name and description for your new issue type. Choose between a standard or sub-task issue type. Standard issue types are placed above the epic level (commonly Initiative and Legend) whereas Sub-task issue types are underneath the Story level alongside subtasks. Select Add.
Field3 is in only Tasks. If you want to find all Tasks and Epics that have Field1=Value1, but also limit the results to Epics where Field2=Value2 and Tasks where Field3=Value3 then your filter would look like this. Field1=Value1 and ( (issueType=Epic and Field2=Value2) or (issueType=Task and Field3=Value3) ) For more information take a look at.
A simpler way is by using an add-on. Hierarchy for Jira lets you create a completely custom issue hierarchy, so you can create levels both above epics and below stories. This makes it easy to create an epic>story>task>sub-task hierarchy and easily link task to stories (or any issues to each other in a parent-child relationship).
I have a very similar scenario above. In Kanban view I can see the Epic labels as option Board->Show epic labels is on. However in the backlog view I do not see the epic labels. We use the epic labels in helping with prioritizing the work so it's very important that we can see them in the backlog view. Regards. Louise
Here is what I would like to do: Create new Epic. Select "Application Packaging" "Template". Using my Epic "Template", Jira automatically creates multiple stories and links them to this new Epic. Research - "Application Packaging Discovery - XYZ". Execute - "Application Packaging Development - XYZ". Execute - "Application Packaging Testing - XYZ".
Hugo Jul 15, 2020. You can change the order of the issues by selecting the epic and dragging/dropping the sub items in the right panel. It is also possible to reorder the issues in the backlog (you can also show all the epics and filter by them when selecting "Epic Panel" in the "Epic" filter). Barry Smith Jan 27, 2022.
