When released, the B16B had one of the highest power outputs per liter of any engine. Road tests at the time reported zero-to-60 acceleration times of around 6.7 seconds for a B16B-equipped 1997 Civic Type R, with a top speed of 140 mph. Like all 1997 Type R Civics, this one has a close-ratio five-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive.
