As of July 2015, the official UTC offset for Santiago, Chile (SCL) has been changed from -4 to -3, but this watch still uses an offset of +3 (the old offset) for SCL. Because of this, you should leave the summer time setting turned on (which advances the time by one hour) for the SCL time.To set up your time zone from scratch, follow these simple steps: Hold down the A button on the upper left side of your G-Shock watch to adjust the time to your local time or your destination time zone. December 23, 2023 by Aden Tate. Setting your G-Shock to military time is simple. Just press the “mode” button on your watch until the time display blinks. Then, use the “adjust” button to select 24-hour time format. That’s it!
For example, I set-up my G7900 like this: I made sure that the DST was off for regular timekeeping. Then I made sure that the DST was off for the Time Zone the watch was set to. Then I made sure that the City Code was correct (-5.0 in my case). While I was at it, I turned off the DST for all of the Time Zones. Everything matches up fine now. m2D0SMF.
